Becoming a Coach

In the fall, I was asked to become a coach for my old club team. hearing this news I was super ecstatic to begin and share a part of my love for the game with them. The prospect of guiding and inspiring a team of eager athletes, sharing my passion for the sport, and contributing to their personal and athletic development filled me with excitement. As I delved into the world of coaching, the challenge of crafting strategic game plans, fostering a sense of teamwork, and instilling a love for the game among the players added an extra layer of enthusiasm to my days. I enjoyed coming in and being able to work with these girls and help them grow in many ways. Although it is my first year coaching, I've had many of my former coaches and other people mention how great of a coach I'd be. It made me excited to know others also saw me as a great leader and one to help guide others and help them grow their love through this sport that I love with my whole heart.

Through the first weeks of evaluations, I had girls on my "team" but would move depending on their skill level and other many important factors. I have a 15-3's team and am thrilled to have a pretty high team out of 7. I loved helping and coaching these girls and teaching them skills my former coaches used to tell me. Becoming a coach has given me a very different perspective as an athlete and if anything, helped me improve in many ways. I enjoyed the learning aspects from my coaching experience and most of all, I was thrilled to be teaching these girls but overall, The opportunity to contribute to the volleyball community, nurture talent, and build lasting connections with the players made the journey of becoming a coach an exciting and deeply rewarding experience.
