Diving Into Icarus

 The documentary Icarus is an American documentary film by Bryan Fogel. It chronicles Fogel's exploration of the option of doping to win an amateur cycling race and happening upon a major international doping scandal when he asks for the help of Grigory Rodchenkov, the head of the Russian anti-doping laboratory. This documentary was very interesting to say the least, watching how Bryan went through his challenges and even the effects of doping was very shocking. Along with how shocking the Lab was in Russia and all the experiments they ran and how crazy it was to see when the WADA exposed Russia's state-sponsorship doping scheme and it ended up effecting Grigory Rodchenkov and he had to go into hiding. Seeing the role that doping played in sports and especially in Russia was shocking, yet so interesting to learn about and to see how everything unfolded in the movie. This documentary was fascinating and I enjoyed learning more about this situation and the people involved, including the history behind doping and what role it played in societies and these athletes.
